| Trees and Clouds | 14:00-18:00 |
These video installations are the result of an unusual collaboration between two local artists, painter Michael Bennett and filmmaker Clive Walley. The paintings came first: solo trees, exhibited in patterns of twelve. To the filmmaker this arrangement of images suggested a movie - a kind of film-strip. The videos rearrange the paintings in time, rather than making patterns in space.
Come and see what the video does to them.

| Professor Heard's Peerless Victorian Magic Lantern Show |
19:45:00 |
'.19th century history has never been so fresh, so entertaining or so surprising.'
Guardian
Grappling with a magnificent old showman's magic lantern and an amazing collection of original 19th-century lantern-slide images, Professor Heard recreates 'a night out at the pictures' as witnessed before the birth of cinema and TV. Comical stories, moral warnings, foreign curiosities, amazing mechanical moving slides and effects are all re-visited with the aid of a stirring and not altogether reliable showman's commentary.
