Frome musicians perform live music to modern silent La Antena (2007).
Part fairytale, part anti-corporation allegory, the Argentinian fable won critical acclaim worldwide.
Described as Fritz Lang meets Tim Burton, the film breathes witty, creative life into the conventions of silent movies.
It inhabits a world of 'Once upon a time' in an all too real present - a boy with no eyes, whose mother has no face, lives in an unnamed city where the population has no voice.
The improvised soundtrack sees a live mix of electronica and acoustic, using instruments, toys, guitar pedals and computers.
In a reversal of the main act, the show will be followed by a live VJ remix of the film where visuals are improvised to music.
Other film events at this year's festival include a charity preview of Pixar's new animated feature, WALL-E at Westway Cinema, Frome, on Thursday 10 July.
The acronym stands for 'Waste Allocation Load Lifter -- Earth-Class' and features a lonely robot assigned to earth in AD2700 to recycle rubbish left by the departed human race.
The film's soundtrack features tunes composed by former Genesis frontman Paul Gabriel.
Speaking about the film on his videoblog earlier in the year, Gabriel says: "I've written a couple of new bits, but I'm also trying some glue on things that I've worked on before.
"I think WALL-E will appeal to young kids. But there's a lot of content for adults as well."
Frome Festival 2008 has written to Gabriel, inviting him to the charity preview. Gabriel now runs Real World Studios from a converted barn near Bath .
Monday 7 July sees the premiere of a film created by Food Frome at The Lamb Inn and on Saturday 12, movie stuntman Paul Kennington demonstrates the art of risk-taking at Frome Community College's Media Arts Studio.
Tickets are available from the festival box office on 01373 455420
